Dad When I was younger
I never did as I was told
You must have thought
That I was far to bold

You passed away many years ago
I just want to tell you I loved you so
Now I see through eyes that are getting old
That I should have done as I was told

Age brings with it wisdom I now realize
that I'm looking back,
through an older persons eyes
You did your best to keep me on track

I am trying to help my own children now
But do you think they'll listen
I just doubt it somehow,
They think I am old and out of touch

But as Fathers Day approaches
They still know, I love them very much.
As I hope you knew I loved you too
I'm wishing Happy Fathers Day to you

Alex pettie was born weighing a huge 11lbs 14oz on the (13/09/1937 he was the middle child of 5 he
had 2 sisters and 2 brothers. My dad died on the 26 of oct 1990 age just 53 years young my dad was
in the army the kings own scottish borders (k o s b ) then leaving the army he went to work as a
steel fixer when his time was up doing that job he went onto work in the community helping others
where we lived we lived at wester hailes then had to move to redhall with me and my 2 sisters due to
my dads health gettin worse my dad left behind a wife (margaret ) who loved him dearly my dad had 2
step daughter and 2 step sons from my mums first marriage then they went on to have 3 girls joanne /
lorraine / and alexis we miss him so much xx love u dad xx .my dad died in hospital of a massive
heart attack may you rest in peace dad till we meet again xxxx
